(Exclusive Interview)Director… Gannah Mostafa: “I aspire for my work to leave a lasting impact… and this is my journey with media and Wojod Media Pro”

Cairo – Mostafa El-Masry:

Gannah Mostafa is one of those rare figures whose presence seems inherently aligned with the world of media.

A composed voice, a sharp professional sensibility, and an ambition that never settles—yet above all, she is a director who believes that every project carries a “presence,” a message, and a human impact that must resonate beyond the screen.

She is far more than a young director building her path; she is an artistic state of her own—like light meeting the lens to form a narrative with soul, depth, and unmistakable identity.

This is how many describe Jannah: a woman who carved her space through passion, shaped her journey with determination, and never waited for opportunities—she created them. Today, she stands among the most notable emerging names in advertising and media.

Her journey began in the lecture halls of the Faculty of Mass Communication, passing through journalism, reporting, and acting, until she ultimately returned to the place where she felt most herself: directing.

From there, she established Wojod Media Pro, a young company—only a few months old—yet already recognized as a professional entity with a clear vision and defined character.

Her mission is both simple and profound:“Every person has a presence… every project holds value… and my role is to reveal that value and restore its true impact.”

In this interview, Jannah shares the story as she lived it—her beginnings, her challenges, her philosophy of content creation, and her journey with Wojod Media Pro, which rapidly rose from a small idea to a distinguished name.

To begin… how do you prefer to introduce yourself to the public?

Jannah Mostafa says:“I like to introduce myself through everything I’ve learned and practiced—content creator, media personality, influencer, TV presenter, and actress. But today, I prefer to introduce myself as a director. That is my true specialization, especially in advertising. As for the other fields, I am naturally talented in them and give each one my full energy, which is why I can be all of those things.”

When did you realize that the media world was your true path?

“From the moment I started working, I realized the exhaustion I felt wasn’t fatigue—it was passion. I had been working since my freshman year in Mass Communication. I moved between fields: journalism, reporting, even acting—where many people wrote about me and encouraged me. Then I found directing, and I understood that this is where I belong. This is the field I cannot walk away from.”

What major challenges did you face?

“The field is demanding. You must be everywhere, all the time. There are days when I work over 20 hours, moving between different locations, standing for long hours. It’s a beautiful field, but tough—full of details and mentally and physically challenging.”

What do you consider your breakthrough moment?

“I’ve had many stages, each contributing something meaningful. But the most important achievement for me is becoming recognized in the industry.

I walk into locations, and people already know me—cinematographers, models, media students who tell me: ‘You inspired me to pursue this field.’ That is the greatest honor—knowing that I’ve encouraged others.”

Who has influenced you the most?

“It’s not one person. Every actor, director, cinematographer, and writer I’ve worked with has left a mark. Each one taught me something essential along the way.”

Wojod Media Pro… The Story and the Vision

How did the agency begin, and why the name “Wojod”?

“The agency is only four to five months old, yet—thankfully—it has already gained remarkable traction. I’ve worked in advertising for many years, and clients trusted my experience. They began approaching me for filming, directing, and marketing.

So I started building a team: cinematographer, editor, writer… and gradually, it evolved into a full agency. The name ‘Wojod’ came from a deep feeling that my presence in people’s lives creates impact. For example, I once created campaigns for a woman whose clothing factory was about to close.

After the campaigns, the factory revived, workers returned, her daughter didn’t have to change schools, and elderly women regained their income. That’s when I realized that my presence truly mattered—and that’s how the name was born.”

And your podcast, also named “Wojod”… what does it mean to you?

“It extends the same philosophy—helping people discover their unique presence, their value, and the impact only they can make.

What is your approach when dealing with clients?

“My first thought is always: how can I genuinely benefit the client? How can I make them feel their presence?

I never tire of working—I love what I do, and I give it everything. In one recent project, I filmed for 20 continuous hours. The client told me, ‘I’m exhausted and you’re still full of energy.’I’m also flexible with budgets. I tell clients the average cost and let them choose what works for them. Then we adapt. I always seek balance: the client is satisfied, and the work maintains its value.”

What are your future plans for Wojod Media Pro?

“I want it to become the largest media agency in the Middle East, God willing. I don’t work with products that disappear in two days. I choose projects with real presence and lasting impact.

I carefully review products before accepting them. Many high-budget offers I’ve rejected simply because they lacked purpose.”

Women in Media and Content Creation

How do you see the role of women today?

“Women have advanced greatly in media and content creation. Even in university, most professors were women. Today, many young women in front of the camera are stronger and bolder than many men.”

What advice do you give young women entering the field?

“Be patient. The field is difficult and requires endurance. I personally worked in freezing weather in Abu El-Nomros and Mansouria, sitting with only a blanket, working long hours. The beginning is exhausting, but it’s worth it. And don’t chase money at first. Rely on whatever small amount you have and learn how to build with it.”

Behind the Scenes… The Spirit of the Team

Many people praise the spirit behind her directing—what sets her style apart?

“One editor who worked with me told me he watched one of my ads four times and didn’t notice the product—instead, he was captivated by the directing and the spirit.

I have to feel my hand in every detail—from directing to editing. Sometimes I work 20 hours straight on a single edit.My team is loyal—we work like a family. They always tell me their favorite thing about me is that I teach them; I don’t just give orders.”

Finally… what message would you like to send to viewers and clients?

“I want to tell them:Don’t pressure the people you work with. Don’t drain them. I cannot work on something I don’t love or cannot perfect. And I don’t like being rushed. For me, a project is not just an advertisement—it is a ‘presence,’ a statement, and an imprint. That is why I immerse myself deeply in every detail.”
