Barely two weeks after the global premiere of the biographical film “Michael,” Lionsgate Studios announced the news millions had been waiting for: a sequel is on the way.Here is everything we know so far:Record-breaking performance: The first film grossed over $430 million within just 10 days of its release, making it one of the most successful musical biopics in history.

Early figures for the sequel: The second installment has already generated impressive early revenues exceeding $277 million worldwide at the start of its release, with further box office updates yet to be officially recorded.

What will the sequel cover?

While the first film focused on Michael’s rise from The Jackson 5 to the “Bad” era in the late 1980s, the sequel will delve into the years that followed — including major global tours, as well as the complex personal and legal challenges he faced throughout the 1990s and beyond.
