In a patriotic atmosphere filled with pride and emotion, the “October Victory Epic” art exhibition was inaugurated this evening at the Egypt Public Library in Dokki, accompanying the symposium “The Strategic Dimension of Soft Power and Its Role in the October Victory Epic.”
The event was held under the patronage of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture and organized in collaboration with Soft Power for Artistic Production, led by renowned novelist Dr. Mona Zaki.The exhibition was curated and organized by journalist and artist Amany Zahran, who succeeded in presenting an inspiring visual narrative that highlights the role of art as a form of soft power — preserving national memory and deepening collective consciousness through creativity and beauty.
The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Mona Zaki, Major General Tarek El-Mahdy, former Governor of Alexandria, and Ambassador Reda El-Taify, along with a distinguished gathering of artists, journalists, and cultural figures.
The celebration was beautifully accompanied by the vibrant tunes of the traditional Simsimia band, resonating over the Nile’s serene banks in Cairo.Art as the Memory of a NationIn her remarks during the opening, Amany Zahran emphasized that art is not a luxury, but rather “the living memory of a nation and the voice of its people.”
She explained that the purpose of this exhibition was to immortalize the spirit of the October War victory in the hearts of younger generations through a visual language that touches both heart and mind.
“It was an honor to organize this cultural event that brings together thought and creativity,” Zahran said, “and to contribute to showcasing the power of art in fostering values of belonging and patriotism.”
Interaction and InspirationThe exhibition featured a diverse collection of artworks created by Egyptian visual artists, each portraying the heroism of Egypt’s soldiers and people during the 1973 October War.
The pieces also reflected the vital role of soft power in documenting national history through artistic expression that bridges heritage and modernity.The evening concluded with a warm reception for participants and guests, celebrating unity, creativity, and the timeless bond between art and national pride.
