Captain Yasmin, Founder of Yasmin Academy:“Integrity Is Our Principle, Commitment Is Our Policy, and Real-World Training Is the Foundation of Our Excellence”
Cairo – Maii Abdo:
From a modest passion for driving to a comprehensive training network operating across twelve Egyptian governorates — the journey of Captain Yasmin, founder and director of Yasmin Academy for Driving Education, stands as a model of determination, professionalism, and leadership.
What began as a personal interest evolved into a pioneering initiative dedicated to teaching men and women the art of driving through a method that combines technical skill with human understanding.
Captain Yasmin explains that her career path was unplanned.
After graduating from the Faculty of Arts, Department of Psychology and Sociology, she sought a position aligned with her academic background but found limited opportunities. One day, she came across a job posting for a “driving instructor” and decided to apply — a decision that would mark a turning point in her life.

“I entered the experience without expectations,” she recalls. “But after training my first student, I realized that I had found my true calling.
”As her experience grew, so did her reputation. Within a short time, she became one of the most recognized instructors in Mansoura, particularly in manual driving. Over time, she discovered that training was not simply a job, but a message and a responsibility.
“The most rewarding moment for me is seeing the joy and confidence on my trainees’ faces when they succeed,” she notes. “It makes me feel that I have contributed to changing something meaningful in their lives.”
From Vision to Institution
Her journey soon took a professional turn when a friend advised her to create a social media page to promote her services. The idea quickly proved successful, as her page attracted widespread attention and expanded her work beyond Mansoura.
To meet increasing demand, she shifted from manual to automatic vehicles and began receiving a growing number of trainees.
“As demand increased significantly, I decided to establish a structured system,” she explains.
“I selected qualified and disciplined instructors capable of combining driving expertise with psychological awareness, and I introduced a client support system that follows every trainee from their first lesson until they achieve full confidence.”
This marked the official launch of Yasmin Academy, which has since grown to become one of Egypt’s leading driving education institutions.
Today, the academy operates across 12 governorates — including Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Mansoura, Tanta, Mahalla El-Kubra, Qalyubia, Monufia, Port Said, Damietta, and Sharqia — and employs more than 100 professional instructors specializing in both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
The Principle of Commitment
Captain Yasmin emphasizes that commitment is the core value of her academy’s success.
“I have worked hard to build a respected name, and therefore, every instructor who joins our team must uphold the same level of professionalism and reliability. Commitment is our foremost standard — in time management, work quality, and behavior.
”Despite managing a large and expanding team, she personally oversees operations, paying attention to every detail. She admits that her dedication often requires long hours, yet she views her work not as a burden but as a passion.
Empowering Women Through Patience and Understanding
Yasmin explains that Yasmin Academy was initially founded to serve women in particular, as many prefer to learn from female instructors who understand their needs and challenges. “Women often like to grasp every detail and ask many questions,” she says.
“This is not a weakness — it reflects their genuine desire to learn thoroughly and correctly.”She also notes that some women may feel uneasy training with male instructors, which makes it essential to provide competent female trainers capable of delivering lessons with confidence, empathy, and professionalism.

Confronting Harassment with Confidence
One of the most significant challenges faced by female learners, according to Yasmin, is exposure to harassment or mockery on the road — experiences that can undermine confidence.
“I teach every trainee to disregard such negativity entirely,” she explains. “My role is to strengthen her self-confidence and ensure she knows she is fully capable of driving independently and safely.”
Authentic Training for Real Conditions
At Yasmin Academy, theoretical lessons are replaced with practical, on-road training to ensure credibility and readiness.
“Our approach is based on realism,” Yasmin stresses. “We train in real traffic, at real times, and under real conditions — so that when a trainee drives alone, she is equipped to handle any situation.”
The academy offers a range of specialized programs tailored to different needs, including:
Beginner Course: For individuals with no prior driving experience.
Confidence Course: For drivers seeking to improve their comfort in traffic.
Skill Enhancement Course: Focused on parking and maneuvering in tight spaces.
Driving Phobia Program: Designed for individuals with a fear of driving.
Yasmin compares teaching driving to teaching literacy:“Driving is a skill like reading and writing — once learned correctly, it is never forgotten.
”Typically, each program extends over one month and consists of approximately ten training sessions.
Driving as a Path to Empowerment
Among her most memorable experiences, Captain Yasmin recalls working with women who had faced challenging life circumstances and found in driving a means of rebuilding confidence and independence.“Some trainees came to us after difficult personal experiences.
When they learned to drive, they felt empowered — as if they were beginning a new chapter in life. Those moments are more valuable to me than any financial reward.”
A Journey of Faith and Perseverance
When asked to summarize her experience in three words, she responded without hesitation:“Divine guidance, commitment, and perseverance.”She adds that her children have been her greatest source of strength and inspiration.
“They have always supported me, despite my long working hours. Their pride in me is what motivates me to keep moving forward and achieving more.”—
In Conclusion
The story of Captain Yasmin is far more than a narrative about learning to drive; it is a testament to personal growth, empowerment, and leadership.
From a young woman with a simple passion to a visionary entrepreneur shaping a culture of confidence and safety on Egypt’s roads, Captain Yasmin embodies the belief that with faith, dedication, and integrity, even the simplest beginnings can lead to exceptional achievements that transform lives and inspire others.
