Dr. Ragaa Magdy Ismail: A Young Academic Who Blends Science, Inspiration, and Entrepreneurship

Cairo – Maii Abdo:

In a time where ambitions grow faster than opportunities, there remain individuals who prove that success is not just a title to be earned or a position to be held, but a lasting impact on minds and hearts.

Among those stands out Dr. Ragaa Magdy Ismail—Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Ahram Canadian University; General Supervisor of Student Activities; Student Union Pioneer; and Founder of RUJA Natural Cosmetics. A young woman who has successfully woven together the paths of science, creativity, and entrepreneurship, proving that life is measured not by years, but by achievements and the value one gives.

• The Start of a Promising Academic Journey

Ragaa graduated in 2013 from Ahram Canadian University, ranking fourth in her class—an early sign of her dedication and determination.

The path was far from easy, but through persistence, she earned her place in academia, joining the same faculty she loved from day one. Today, as a university professor, she approaches her students from two perspectives: the mentor who imparts knowledge, and the supportive guide who helps them recognize their own worth and potential.

Dr.Ragaa is known not only as a lecturer but also as an inspirational role model. For her, education goes beyond transmitting information—it is about shaping resilient, confident individuals ready to face life’s challenges. As she often says: “What matters most to me is the impact I leave—in every student I teach and every project I contribute to.”

This vision has made her a driving force in student activities, creating an environment where innovation thrives. She believes the lecture hall is important, but the arena of hands-on experience and extracurricular engagement is just as vital.

• A Leader Who Creates Impact

As General Supervisor of Student Activities and Student Union Pioneer, Ragaa bridges academic learning with real-world application.

Under her guidance, the Enactus Ahram Canadian University team achieved remarkable success with an environmental project that transformed construction waste into eco-friendly cement bricks—stronger in quality and 23% cheaper than standard bricks.

The project wasn’t just an idea; it became a success story—creating over 510 job opportunities, raising workers’ incomes by 30%, and directly impacting 1,200 individuals while indirectly reaching more than 65,000 people.

These achievements placed the team among the top 30 nationwide, proving that the university is indeed a launchpad for creative minds.

• Entrepreneurship Driven by Science

Beyond academia, Ragaa ventured into entrepreneurship by founding RUJA Natural Cosmetics.

Despite the hurdles—especially in marketing—she refused to accept failure. Instead, she turned once more to science, studying marketing until she managed to revive and redirect her business.

This experience highlights another side of her character: resilience, adaptability, and a strong belief that obstacles are opportunities in disguise.

• Global Exposure, Local Vision

Her journey extended beyond her university and company into global platforms.

She contributed to major international organizations such as the United Nations, Mercy Corps, and the World Food Forum, where she spearheaded initiatives on green innovation, gender equality, and sustainable healthcare.

These experiences broadened her outlook, shaping her conviction that bridging local realities with global perspectives is essential—and that Egyptian students can compete internationally when provided with the right environment.

• Inspiration from the Roots

When asked about her sources of inspiration, Ragaa immediately credits her family, especially her father, who instilled in her the value of helping others.

She also names Sir Magdi Yacoub as her ultimate role model—a man whose legacy lies not just in medical textbooks but in the countless hearts he has healed, embodying selfless giving at its finest.

• Recognition at Home and Abroad

Her inclusion in the list of the “100 Inspiring Young Faces of the Ummah” crowned what may seem like a short journey in years but is deep in impact.

For Ragaa, this honor is not merely an achievement but a responsibility: “I am very proud of this recognition, but I see it as the beginning of a new chapter—one that calls for more work and greater contribution.”

• A Message to the Youth

Dr. Ragaa never misses an opportunity to address young people:“Don’t limit your ambitions to academic learning. Engage in extracurricular activities, volunteer initiatives, and real projects. These are where you’ll gain leadership skills, teamwork experience, and practical knowledge that will guide your success after graduation.”

• A Woman Who Mastered the Equation

In Ragaa’s persona, science meets creativity, entrepreneurship intersects with humanity, and ambition is balanced with responsibility.

She is not just an academic confined to classrooms—she is a changemaker whose influence extends into society and beyond. A young woman who proved that true power lies not in titles, but in the impact left behind.
