Time for Change …… Dina Sami Enters Al-Zohour Club Elections with a Progressive Vision for Women and Society
Cairo – Maii Abdo:
Confident, ambitious, and deeply committed to progress — Dina Sami represents a new generation of Egyptian women determined to lead with purpose. Her candidacy for the Al-Zohour Club elections stems not from a search for status, but from a genuine desire to inspire change and empower others.A lifelong athlete, Dina views sports as more than physical activity — it’s a philosophy.
“Sports teach discipline and leadership — values that can transform any institution,” she says.
From Sports to Strategy
After years in education, Dina returned to her passion for sports and went on to study sports management under Dr. Zouhair Ammar, blending experience with academic depth.
Her studies shaped her belief that effective leadership combines science, structure, and vision.
A Defining Step: The National Academy for Women
Her turning point came with joining the National Academy for Women – “Women Lead”, a presidential initiative that trains future female leaders.
“It was a true gift from the President,” she recalls. “We were taught to plan, think strategically, and act with knowledge, not emotion.”
At the academy, she studied emotional intelligence, entrepreneurship, and strategic planning, gaining practical leadership experience and reaffirming her belief in the state’s support for women’s empowerment.
Academic Excellence and National VisionDina later earned a Master’s degree on the role of think tanks in strategic planning — one of the few studies of its kind in Egypt.
“Few understood how think tanks influence decision-making globally. My research opened new doors and inspired my next steps.”She is currently pursuing a PhD at Nasser Military Academy, focusing on national and cyber security.
“Cybersecurity is today’s defense weapon. No one can protect their nation without understanding technology.”
A Vision for Al-Zohour ClubDina’s election program is centered on women, children, and seniors.> “Children are the heart of the club,” she says. “I plan to create a safe daycare, kids’ area, and covered swimming pool for women’s sports.”
She also aims to modernize the club’s management, encourage sponsorships, and improve services without increasing member fees. “Success isn’t about raising prices; it’s about smarter planning and sustainable growth.”
Women at the Heart of Change
Dina is outspoken about the absence of women in club leadership.
“For over eight years, there hasn’t been a single female sports director. Women are more than capable of leading successfully.”
She advocates for family-oriented programs, cultural events, and initiatives that reflect Egypt’s broader vision of women’s empowerment.
Beyond Sports: Building Bridges
With strong international connections, Dina hopes to establish sports diplomacy partnerships linking Al-Zohour Club with clubs abroad.
“Collaboration with international sports institutions will strengthen our athletes and raise the club’s global profile.”
A Final Message
With her calm confidence and academic strength, Dina Sami sends a message to every Egyptian woman:“Education is the first step. Once you empower yourself, leadership becomes a daily choice — not a coincidence.”
